BECOMING POPULAR - HACIÉNDOME FAMOSO.

It is now half a year since I decided to go for this challenge. Two months since we started to work in our Just Giving website. Two weeks since we officially launched the site. One week since our Twitter account and one day since this blog. The closer I am to start my trip the more busy I am; but it worths the effort.
I did not know how expensive is fundraising! Every single day I realise that I need a new piece of equipment, luggage, new tools or even clothes. I went yesterday to Oxford to buy a pair of Thermal Bib Tights that I have successfully tested today. It is still f..... cold and windy. Now that my legs are ok my feet hurt. After two hours cycling I simply don´t feel the tip of my toes. They become purple and stiff. Besides I have tried to find proper MTB shoes covers for a long time I haven´t succeeded yet. Never mind! I feel I´m getting used to this extreme weather conditions. However, no pain no gain!
On the other hand I´m not very much in all these social apps like facebook, twitter and blogger. It takes me ages to update them all, and I do confess I´m a little bit lazy. Fortunately my wife is of a great support, so do my children. Special thanks to my sister in law Alicia for her "tech support". She is addicted to all this apps. They all are helping me a lot with all this stuff.
Lots of emails, phone calls and donations. I got the feeling that we are doing something great.
We started this project from the scratch. Knowing nothing about fundraising and we all have built upon, becoming larger and popular.
I´m becoming really popular indeed, not as much as my son Nacho in the High School, but sort of. It´s not only my neighbours asking for this project but also the local newspaper published an article about my challenge.

... and even BBC Radio Producer Mr Pete Betswick finds this fundraising of general interest. He wants me to be interviewed by Mr Bill Heine next Sunday morning in "Next on" when he reviews Oxforshire´s week and talks to people that matters. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p001d7tf. Quite bit of a shocking! To my great surprise it looks like I matter. I know I don´t,  but let´s take the advantage of this great opportunity to publicize this fundraising. As I like to say, the more people know about it, the more donations we will get and therefore more cancer´s fighters will beat this illness. If popularity means that we will have more donations, I do confirm I want to become popular!
Coming back to the weather forecast I need to find those shoes covers. I will have another try tomorrow in London.

Muchos emails, llamadas y donaciones.
